LEWISTON, Idaho -- A Lewiston man accused of taking his son without permission has been charged with a felony.
Prosecutors charged 39-year-old Charles Remacle on Thursday with one count of child custody interference. Remacle was arraigned, but has yet to enter a plea in the case.
Investigators say he took his 2-year-old son from a Lewiston day care facility without permission on Oct. 1, then failed to return him to the mother. Remacle was arrested a week later at the Wild Horse Casino near Pendleton, Ore., and the child was returned to his mother unharmed.
Remacle is scheduled to appear in 2nd District Court again on Jan. 7.
