TREASURE VALLEY MEMORIAL DAY EVENTS:

Cloverdale Memorial Park, Memorial Day Observance Celebration
"Celebrating our Nation's History"

Saturday, May 29th:
The celebration begins at 10:30 a.m. and will be open to the public and free to attend.

  • Civil war cannon salute
  • Flyovers will be performed by the War Hawk Museum
  • Program will feature the Civil War Volunteers and Fleet Reserve Association 
  • Hot dog and ice cream picnic


Saturday, Sunday, and Monday:
Hot dogs and sodas will be served from 11 a.m. - 2 p.m.

Cloverdale Memorial Park is located on the corner of Fairview Avenue & Cloverdale Road in Boise.

Hillcrest Memorial Gardens
"Celebration of Life"

Monday, May 31st:
The celebration begins at 12:00 p.m. and will be open to the public and free to attend.

  • Presentation of colors by the Boise Color Guard Cadets
  • Prayers for our troops and their families
  • U.S. Military flyover
  • Memorial dove release with a special tribute to POW's of the past and present
  • Hear from Staff Sgt. Jonathan Eyton about how life has been for him since his return from serving in Iraq
  • Special music
  • Showing of restored combat vehicles
  • Refreshments

Monday, at 12, noon... 11:30 music starts, program starts at 12:00 p.m.

Hillcrest Memorial Gardens are located on the corner of Indiana Avenue and Karcher Road in Caldwell.

American Legion Post 114 Memorial Day Event

Monday, May 31st:

  • Barbecue fundraiser will be held at the Veteran's Memorial Building in Meridian.
  • Event will run from 12 p.m. - 4 p.m.
  • Authentic F-16 flight simulator

The Veteran's Memorial Building is located at 22 West Broadway, behind Meridian City Hall in Meridian.

Idaho State Veterans Cemetery

Monday, May 31st:
The event begins at 10:00 a.m.

  • There will be a wreath laying ceremony
  • Idaho Air National Guard flyover
  • Distinguished speakers
  • Idaho Army National Guard's 25th Army Band
  • National moment of silence
  • Barbecue following event will be held at Veteran's Memorial Park.

Visitors are encouraged to park at the Optimist Youth Sports Complex where a shuttle will pick people up and take them to the event.

The Idaho State Veterans Cemetery is located at 10100 Horseshoe Bend Road in Boise, Idaho.

Idaho Civil War Volunteers ceremony

Monday, May 31st:

There will be a ceremony at 12 p.m. at the Veteran's Monument in Morris Hill Cemetery

Another ceremony will be held at 2 p.m. at the Military Reserve Cemetery on Mountain Cove Rd in northeast Boise.

Both events will include the following:

  • Flag raising ceremony
  • Eulogy
  • Gun salute

Hailey Cemetery -- Hailey Memorial Day Ceremony 2010
"Lest We Forget...Military Families Also Serve."

Monday, May 31st:
Celebration will begin at 11 a.m. and run until 2 p.m.

  • It is open to public and free of charge.
  • Four F-15E "Thunderbolts" from Mountain Home AFB will flyover at 11:45 a.m.
  • Many special speakers
  • National Honor Guard wreath placement ceremony
  • Moment of silence
  • Refreshments

Idaho Falls Memorial Day Observance

Monday, May 31st:

  • 8:00 a.m. ceremony at the Idaho Falls Veterans Memorial
  • 9:00 a.m. event at Rose Hill Cemetery
  • 10:00 a.m. ceremony at Ammon Cemetery
  • 11:00 a.m. tribute at Lincoln Ceremony.

Blackfoot Memorial Day Service

Monday, May 31st:

  • 10:00 a.m. service at Grove City Cemetery
  • Lunch will follow the ceremony at Legion Hall.

Pocatello Memorial Day Observance

Monday, May 31st:

Event will begin at 9:45 a.m. at the Bannock County Veterans Memorial Building, 300 N. Johnson Avenue.

Usually closed on Mondays, but will be open on Memorial Day.
