GOODING, Idaho -- A 5th District judge has suspended the remaining prison sentence for a former Gooding High School teacher convicted of sexually battering a student and placed her on 10 years of probation.
Forty-year-old Anna Bettencourt completed 180 days in a retained jursidiction program, and Judge John Butler told her Tuesday it appeared she did well while in the program.
The Times-News reports that Butler had previously sentenced her to up to 10 years in prison, but he suspended that sentence Tuesday in lieu of a decade of probation and mandatory sex offender treatment.
