BOISE - Unlike last year's Presidential election, this year's races are strictly at the city and county levels.
KTVB's political analyst, Jim Weatherby, says that will effect turnout and results.
"In a city election like tomorrow, a high voter turnout is 30-35 percent, which in general election terms or general election primary terms is very, very low. It means on election night, we could have some surprises," said Weatherby.
We won't know what, if any surprises arise until the polls close, but here's what Treasure Valley voters will find:
In Boise, three city council seats are up for grabs.
Jim Tibb's is vacating his position making way for a new face on the Boise City Council. The contenders are TJ Thomson and David Litster.
Two incumbent council members are also hoping to retain their positions against two challengers each.
In Caldwell, incumbent Garrett Nancolas faces newcomer Helmut Kolher for the position of mayor.
Caldwell also has three city council seats on the ballot.
Another mayor and council election is in Nampa, where current Mayor Tom Dale is facing three challengers. Four others are vying for two council seats.
The cities of Eagle, Kuna, Meridian, Middleton and Star each have two city council seats up for re-election.
Garden City's mayor and two council seats are also on the ballot, but it's really just a formality as none of the incumbents is being challenged.
There are also a couple bond measures many of you will see on Tuesday's ballot:
In Star, it's a $6 million golf course bond and in Canyon County it's a $46 million jail bond.
"The future of the jail in Canyon County is a major issue," said Weatherby. "All of the Canyon County voters will be voting on that question not just city registered voters."
It's been on the ballot before, but the revised jail bond will once again be put before Canyon County voters.
In the Wood River Valley, a total of eight council members will be elected in Ketchum, Sun Valley, Hailey and Bellevue, as well as a hotly contested mayoral race in Ketchum.
Polls are open from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.
