BOISE -- School is in session Thursday at Borah high school, after a mercury spill yesterday.

But the classroom where the spill happened will not be used today as a precaution.

Boise School District Spokesman Dan Hollar says the rest of the old Gymnasium building is back open.

It had to be evacuated Wednesday after a student's bracelet that had a bead containing mercury broke.

Hollar says the fire department went back to Borah High School early Thursday morning to recheck the room, and found mercury levels a little high on one floor tile.

Hollar says they'll likely replace that tile, and may reopen the classroom Friday.

The student the bracelet belonged to told us she made the bracelet, but got the mercury bead from a friend who found it in a shed.
