BOISE -- Canyon County and Kuna residents are being warned to have their vehicles' emissions tested -- or face revocation of their registrations.
The Idaho Department of Environmental Quality says people with an August deadline must pass the test before Dec. 6.
Otherwise, their registrations will be revoked. If that happens, the owner must get their cars or trucks tested -- and purchase new registration.
For those residents still uncertain of their testing deadline, they can go to www.IdahoVIP.org, click the "Due Date" link, then enter their license plate number or vehicle identification.
Emissions testing has long been a sore spot in Canyon County, where residents and local government officials have bristled at this state requirement aimed at protecting the region's air quality and avoiding more stringent government limits.
