BOISE -- Two deputies with the Ada County Sheriff's Department are credited with saving an old, "grouchy" cat that fell into a 20-foot deep well on Wednesday.
The cat-astrophe happened near Eagle Road.
Although it's not clear how the animal managed to fall into the two-foot wide well, deputies Ben Sterling and Chris Bones were able to rescue it.
The deputies are said to have used a long stick to hoist the animal out. They said the cat was hurriedly trying to tread water to stay afloat.
According to the sheriff's department, the woman said she'd "never met officers with such kind hearts."
She also told the sheriff's department that while the cat doesn't belong to her, she cares about it -- despite it being kind of an "old grouch."
