BOISE – A spokesperson for Allegiant Air says the airline plans to end service to seven West Coast cities including Boise and Spokane this summer.
Beginning on Aug. 14, 2013, the airline will end service from Hawaii to Boise, Spokane, Eugene, Fresno, Stockton, Santa Maria and Phoenix.
Allegiant Air spokeswoman Jessica Wheeler called this a seasonal hiatus and said routes will return before the holidays. She says this decision helps them keep fares low.
She says they have seen a lot of demand for the Boise flights to both Hawaii and Las Vegas. They will be evaluating both those routes later this this year.
Currently, Allegiant Air operates one flight a week between Boise and Honolulu. That service began in February. The airline also offers twice-a-week service to Las Vegas.
Flights from Hawaii to Las Vegas and Bellingham, Wash., will not be affected.
