NAMPA -- Canyon County Dispatchers tell KTVB that a large grass fire sparked near I-84 and the Northside Blvd. exit in Nampa just before 3 p.m.

A large plume of smoke and fire can be readily seen by the Idaho Dept. of Transportation's traffic camera near Northside Blvd.

Dispatchers say no homes or buildings have been burned in the fire.

Early reports from the scene indicate that area businesses, including a local golf course and a small hotel are taking precautionary measures to wet their lawns and clear brush.

KTVB has a news crew headed to the scene and will update the story with more details.
