Hundreds turn out for seventh annual Meridian Community Block Party

The 7th annual Meridian Community Block Party attracted hundreds of residents to Kleiner Park on Saturday.

MERIDIAN -- Hundreds made their way to Kleiner Park in Meridian Saturday for the seventh annual Community Block Party.

The free, family-friendly event featured dozens of activities, including a rock climbing wall, several bounce houses, inflatable soccer games and even hose-rolling with the Meridian Fire Department.

Renee White, the Recreation Coordinator of Special Events for the Meridian Parks and Recreation Department, said the event is a great way for Meridian residents to get out and see what Meridian has to offer.

Those in attendance also participated in judging a mascot dance-off and talent show.

Well-known mascots from across the Treasure Valley, including our own Circle 7, danced their hearts out in the hopes of winning money for charity.

"They bust a move," White said.

Stanley the Stallion from Sienna Elementary School beat nine other mascots to win this year's contest.
