Three human cases of the West Nile virus have been confirmed in Canyon and Payette counties.

The cases in Canyon County involved a teenage girl and a woman in her 50s.

Health officials say the teen was hospitalized with West Nile meningitis and is now recovering at home.

The woman was not hospitalized.

Officials remind you to wear long sleeves when outside at dusk and dawn to protect against mosquitoes.

And wear EPA approved insect repellant and remove any standing water around your home.
