CANYON COUNTY - In what health officials say is the first case of its kind in southern Idaho, a Canyon County man has tested positive for the Zika virus.
Southwest District Health officials said a man in his 40s tested positive for the virus, and that all information points to the case being travel-related.
The man went to an area outside the United States with active Zika transmission, health officials said.
He was not hospitalized.
SWDH said this is the third case confirmed in Idaho this year, and that there have been no locally acquired cases in the state.
The other two cases were in North Idaho.
