OLYMPIA, Wash. All visitors to Olympia's Providence St. Peter Hospital and Providence Centralia Hospital will be asked a series of questions to see if they might be suffering from swine flu.
Visitors who are known to be ill with the flu are not being allowed in the hospitals.
Those with potential flu-like symptoms are being given masks to wear while visiting.
Visitors under the age of 18 are not being allowed in the birthing centers or the pediatric units.
"It's because we have patients that are vulnerable because they're in the hospital," said Jill Cooper, V.P. of Quality for Providence St. Peter.
The screening process takes about 15 seconds for each visitor.
Most who spoke to KING-5 News didn't mind answering the questions.
"I have surgery in two weeks and I don't appreciate people coming in with a bug," said Marilyn Barker.
