Falls City woman dies in 99W crash

MONMOUTH, Ore. -- A Falls City woman died after a collision Sunday evening between a Honda and a pickup at 99W and Suver Road, about midway between Monmouth and Corvallis.

A 2002 Ford F250 was westbound on Suver Road about 6 p.m. when it tried to cross the highway and was t-boned by a 2010 Honda, according to Oregon State Police.

The Honda driver, Cecelia L. Nicosia, 23, of Dallas was airlifted to Good Samaritan hospital in Corvallis with serious injuries. A hospital spokeswoman said Nicosia was in good condition Sunday.

A couple from Falls City was in the pickup. Driver Matthew L. Serry, 25, was not hurt. His wife Sara L. Brown, 24, was pronounced dead at the scene. An early look suggests neither was wearing seat belts, the OSP said.

Drivers were detoured around the scene for about six hours. The investigation continues.
