SEATTLE -- A team of marine biologists at Cascadia Research confirmed the sighting of a rare visitor in Puget Sound.
They snapped pictures of a bottlenose dolphin in Budd Inlet near Olympia Thursday.
Cascadia co-founder John Calambokidis tells KING 5 News it is very unusual to see a dolphin this far north.
Tropical dolphins have strayed into Puget Sound before -- one was spotted last year, and one back in 1988. But both of those animals died.
Biologists say so far this one seems healthy, but very, very lost.
