Eight hospitalized after crash in Gresham

8 people hurt in highway 26 crash in Gresham

GRESHAM, Ore. -- A two-vehicle crash at U.S  Highway 26 and S.E. Palmquist Road late Monday night sent eight people to hospitals.
Emergency crews responded to the area at 9:10 p.m. to discover a wreck between a mid-sized truck and a dark-colored sedan.
Reports indicate that the driver of the truck was traveling westbound on Highway 26 when the sedan, traveling eastbound, attempted to negotiate a northbound turn onto S.E. Palmquist Road and was T-boned.
Gresham police says alcohol was not a factor in the crash. The incident remains under investigation and police are unsure whether citations wil be issued.
This collision has closed all lanes of Highway 26 at the intersection, at least until early morning, while the Multnomah County Vehicular Crimes Team investigated.
Life Flight transported one of the injured to the hospital by helicopter.
