KENT, Wash. -- Months of practice paid off at Kent Elementary School Thursday night. The annual Festival in the Valley brought five elementary schools together to sing songs, play instruments and perform in front of families.

But, this could be the swan song of the festival.

With the Kent School District needing to trim $6 million to $7 million from its budget for next fall, the school district has posted a survey on its website asking parents to prioritize the cuts under consideration.

The music program in all the elementary schools is on the chopping block.

The physical education program at the elementary school level could also be eliminated, along with the jobs of four assistant principals at the high school level.

The school board plans on making a final decision by the end of April.
