Woman sexually assaulted in Gresham, police say

Police: Man attacks woman walking to work

GRESHAM, Ore. – Detectives are looking for a man who reportedly sexually assaulted a 19-year-old woman while she walked to work early Wednesday morning in southeast Gresham.

Police believe the man was armed with a handgun.

The assault occurred in the 2800 block of Southeast Powell Valley Road at around 4 a.m.

The victim told police she was walking to work when the man approached her. He spoke with her briefly before the attack, she said.

Police described the suspect as a white man in his early to mid-20s. He was clean shaven with short, blonde hair and light-colored eyes. The man was about 5-foot-1 and thin. He wore dark clothes and black tennis shoes, and may have had red markings of some kind on his hands.
