Wild Seattle Police chase with teen driver through SODO

An August 3 pursuit led Seattle Police onto railroad tracks in the Georgetown neighborhood of Seattle.

Seattle Police released dash cam footage of a car chase that ended on the train tracks.

On August 3, officers pursued a 17-year-old carjacker who stole a BMW X5 in Beacon Hill.

Two suspects had approached the victim in the 5300 block of 16th Avenue South, pointed a gun at him, and demanded cash and the keys to the BMW. The victim complied, and suspects took off in the car.

Officers spotted the stolen BMW on Swift Avenue South and South Albro Place, and the suspects led police on a chase into Georgetown. After striking a fire hydrant, the BMW turned north on the BNSF railroad tracks off Airport Way South. The BMW got stuck on the train tracks near South Corgiat Drive and Ursula Place South, and the carjacker was taken into custody.
