Seattle PD officer accused of groping co-workers

SEATTLE -- A Seattle police officer has been charged for allegedly groping three co-workers, the Seattle Police Department announced Thursday.

John Knight has been suspended without pay after assault charges were filed in King County. He faces three counts of fourth-degree assault, two of them with sexual motivation. SPD says Knight was assigned to the Training and Education Section.

According to probable cause documents, Knight allegedly groped the buttocks over the clothes of others numerous times, put his hand down the shirt of a female co-worker multiple times, and groped the crotch area of a male co-worker multiple times.

Two of the alleged victims allegedly said they were concerned Knight had a lot of power and they might face reprisals if they reported him. Knight is a 26-year veteran of the department.

The three co-workers finally complained to a lieutenant, court documents read. The department says it is continuing to investigate and is asking other employees who may have been victims to come forward.
