Reward offered for information in fatal Portland hit-and-run

PORTLAND, Ore. – Police and Crime Stoppers of Oregon are offering a reward for information about a Portland hit-and-run that killed a man in August.

Stanley Henry Grochowski, 65, was injured in the crash on Aug. 30. He died of his injuries in a hospital on Sept. 9.

Investigators said Grochowski was using a crosswalk to walk across North Greeley Avenue when he was struck by a driver heading south in a Toyota Rav4 at around 8:40 p.m.

The driver stopped after the crash, but sped away from the scene without getting out of the SUV.

Grochowski’s death was the 32nd traffic fatality in Portland this year.

Crime Stoppers is offering up to $2,500 for information that leads to an arrest in the case. Tipsters can remain anonymous.
