Police release photos of car involved in Caldwell shooting

CALDWELL -- The search continues for a man accused of shooting a 22-year-old near an intersection in Caldwell Sunday.

Police on Thursday released surveillance images of the suspect's car, urging anyone who recognizes it or has information about the shooting to come forward.

The victim, an Ontario man, came to the attention of investigators after he turned up at a local hospital with a gunshot wound. Police learned he had been shot earlier that day after arguing with another man at a business in Nampa.

When the victim left the business in his vehicle, the man followed in his car, opening fire on the 22-year-old near Santa Ana Avenue and Blue Springs Street, police say.

The victim said he did not want to press charges against his attacker, and is not cooperating with law enforcement.

The suspect, described as a fair-skinned man between 20 and 30 years old, should be considered armed and dangerous, police say. His car is believed to be a dark gray Chevrolet Malibu with tinted windows, black custom wheels, and chrome trim around the windows. The car may be a 2012 model, investigators said.

Anyone with information should call Canyon County Sheriff Dispatch at 454-7531 or Crime Stoppers at 343-COPS.
