Man arrested after shooting outside Gresham church

GRESHAM, Ore. -- A man was arrested after shooting another man in the face outside a church in Gresham early Monday morning.

Kevin Michael Farmer, 21, was taken into custody after a traffic stop in Gresham early Wednesday morning, police said. 

The victim, 29-year-old Jonathon Pierce, was taken to a local hospital and later released.

Police said Farmer and Pierce knew each other.

The shooting happened near the "Red Barn" warehouse and garden of Sanctuary Church, located at 19626 Northeast Glisan Street.

Police are still investigating what led to the shooting.
