Police looking for suspect in sexual assault, armed robbery

PORTLAND, Ore. -- Portland police are asking the public to help locate a man who they say sexually assaulted an employee at Pussycats lingerie shop during an armed robbery earlier this week.

Police have issued an arrest warrant for the suspect, 31-year-old James Ringang Ellis, on charges of first-degree sex abuse, first-degree sodomy and first-degree robbery.

Ellis allegedly entered the store, located at 3414 Northeast 82nd Avenue on Monday, Oct. 10, at about 3:20 a.m. He was armed with a gun and demanded money. Police say he sexually assaulted a 34-year-old employee before leaving.

Police say Ellis is about 5-foot-8 and 165 pounds.

Ellis is considered armed and dangerous and people should not approach him. If you see him, call 911 immediately.

Another Pussycats lingerie shop, at 5226 Southeast Foster Road, was robbed Wednesday afternoon. Police say the suspect demanded money from an employee and fired a shot before leaving.

It has not been determined if the second robbery is connected with the armed robbery and sexual assault on Monday.
