Kuna sex offender sentenced in child porn case

BOISE -- A Kuna man will spend more than seven years behind bars after admitting to possessing child pornography.

Jonathan Dillard, 49, received a total sentence of 87 months in federal prison, followed by a lifetime of supervised release.

According to a plea agreement, Dillard used a Yahoo chat group to view explicit images of children in November and December 2013. The following January, investigators searched his home and seized a laptop, flash drive and DVDs containing child pornography.

Dillard admitted possessing 57 images and 13 videos of child pornography as part of the plea deal. Dillard had previously been convicted of possession of child pornography in 2003, and is a registered sex offender.

Dillard's case was investigated by the Idaho Attorney General's Office's Internet Crime Against Children Unit, with help from the Ada County Sheriff's Office.
