Idaho AG spokesman resigns after pot possession citation

BOISE - The spokesman for the Idaho Attorney General's Office has resigned after being charged with marijuana possession in Nez Perce County.

Brian Kane with the AG's office confirmed that Todd Dvorak resigned Monday. The AG's office announced his departure on Wednesday.

Dvorak was charged Friday with possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia - both misdemeanors.

According to the Idaho Repository, Dvorak entered written pleas of innocent to both charges.

The repository also says Dvorak retained attorney Charles Michael Stroschein.

When reached for comment Wednesday afternoon, Kane said, "The attorney general is a very by-the-book attorney general. Generally, when people run into these sorts of issues, they resign."
