'Harry Potter Bandit' caught after bank robberies in Oregon, Washington

SEATTLE – The FBI says a bank robbery suspect known as the “Harry Potter Bandit” is in custody after robbing banks in Washington and Oregon.

Caleb Andrew Dierlam, 20, was arrested Dec. 14 at his home in Mill Creek, Wash. and later transferred to federal custody.

Investigators believe Dierlam is responsible for at least six bank robberies this year in Oregon and Washington, including the robberies of a Key Bank in Gresham and a US Bank in Beaverton on Nov. 8.

The FBI says Dierlam may be involved in additional bank robberies.

It’s unclear why investigators dubbed Dierlam the “Harry Potter Bandit.” He was seen wearing glasses in surveillance photos.
