Deadly shooting in Auburn puts schools in lockdown

AUBURN, Wash.  -- Police are searching for a shooter who killed one person and caused several schools to go on precautionary lockdown.

The shooting happened in the 2400 block of F Street Friday morning. Police found the victim, a male, in a car. The victim later died.

A K9 could not track the suspect, described only as a black male in his late teens or early 20s.

It appears the victim was inside the car and the suspect shot them from outside the car.

Olympic Middle School, Pioneer Elementary, and Terminal Park Elementary, were placed on lockdown as a precaution. Gildo Rey Elementary and Mount Baker Middle School were also placed on modified lockdown. Those lockdowns have been lifted.
