OLYMPIA, Wash. – It's another case of Washington state's "Good to Go" tolling system on the fritz. An Olympia man had plenty of money left in his account, but he still received tickets.

Ray Santanna is a high climbing tree trimmer.

"A lot of times you're in mountains where the transmission lines come across and you get to see a lot of country," he said.

But the timber that's giving him the most trouble these days is the paper tickets coming from Tacoma Narrows bridge violations.

"This can't be right. I mean there's no way," he said.

Ray's got two tickets under the old Good to Go system that was bounced months ago, when he had plenty of money in his account.

"I called Good to Go they said challenge it," he said.

Ray disputed both tickets. Only one was dismissed. So he paid for the other  because he didn't want to go to collections.

"They say they're going to dismiss one, but still charge me for the other. My account is in good standing so why do I have to pay?" he said.

Ray got caught in the middle fighting a ticket under the old system with a customer service rep from the new company, said WSDOT Toll Division Director Craig Stone.

"New vendor had been on the job for a couple of weeks and that customer service representative didn't have our standard operating procedures well versed, gave some bad advice," said Stone

Bottom line: It was Good to Go's fault all along. Stone said Ray's transponder didn't read correctly. So after Ray called Good to Go, his tickets should have been tossed immediately.

"We've contacted the Pierce County courts and they will address that and they will refund him the $52," said Stone.

Remember that this is about the old system, so if you got a ticket that you believe was issued in error before mid-February, you need to get a hold of Good to Go by calling them at 1-866-936-8246. You can also e-mail them or you can send them snail mail at:
