WASHINGTON, D.C. - A Seattle company is recalling about 17,000 youth hooded sweatshirts and jackets because drawstrings through the hoods could trap or strangle children.
The items were manufactured in China and imported by Century 21 Promotions of Seattle.
They were sold at a variety of stores, primarily in New England, Washington and Alaska -- between September 2005 and September 2009. Seattle stores include Seattle Shirt and Simply Seattle.
No incidents have been reported.
Consumers should immediately remove the drawstrings from the sweatshirts to eliminate the hazard, or return the garment to the place of purchase for a full refund.
For additional information, contact Century 21 Promotions at (800) 935-2100 between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. PT Monday through Friday or visit www.cpsc.gov.
