William L. Field is walking his greyhound Lizzie, but it's the Enumclaw man who wants to bite someone.
"Arizona has fouled up again," he said.
Yes, they did. Mr. Field just got a letter from the IRS saying the state of Arizona's child support agency has garnished his $5,025 refund. The problem, the state's got the wrong guy again and they know it.
"Nobody bothered to check the information they had, that's the real problem," he said. "Basically, I feel like our money is being held hostage."
Well, it is. Last month Arizona cleaned out our guy, William L. Field's bank accounts to the tune of nearly $3,500. That would be OK, but investigators are looking for William J. Field, a man who owes $46,000 in back child support.
We spoke to Steve Meissner with the state's child support enforcement agency who said everything was fixed.
"In the case of Mr. Field, I believe we've worked with him to rectify any problems that may have occurred," he said.
William L. Field got his $3,500 back, and a promise that his personal information was purged from their system. Yeah, right it was!
"I'm just tired of it. Who did it? I don't know," he said.
We made sure William's getting his refund money back, but who's running the ship in Arizona? I tried to get an answer from them, and again, they're not talking.
"I guess we can make this a monthly installment: Where's William Field's money this month?" he said.
Be careful, Mr. Field. May is just around the corner. It seems the state of Arizona informed everyone about William L. Field except for the IRS. The state is sending Mr. Field a check.
For Mr. Field's sake, I truly hope that this ends this story. I really do.
