Seattle University's basketball team is practicing on the hardwoods. Getting ready to make the jump to division one basketball. Coach cameron dollar says his guys are ready.
Jesse Jones: "What can we expect to see?"
Cameron Dollar: "Up tempo basketball guys hitting the floor taking charges playing together."
When the Redhawks literally hit the floor, like they have hundreds of times this season, Alex Becker makes his move with his trusty sweeper.
Alex Becker: "Lots of motion, lots of pushing."
Jesse Jones: "You don't move the brush in a circular fashion?"
Alex Becker: "No just back and forth."
But tonight I put Alex and his sweeper to the test against the Slipper Genie. Just slide around in these pink cuties and they're supposed to make your floor shine.
Jesse Jones: "You'll have your broom right? I'll have these little slippers that clean up the floor as I shuffle along."
Alex Becker: "I'm gonna kick your butt... you're going down."
Next I don the pink slippers, and Coach Dollar gets the floor nice and wet.
Coach Dollar: "Ol' Jesse better have a whole lot of traction on there. Let's see what he has in store for him."
Our contest will take place in the key, where real men battle, even if they wear pink slippers.
After Coach blows the whistle, Becker starts pushing and I start sliding. My form needs some work and Coach isn't shy to point that out: "Jesse, you are on defense, get your butt down, keep those feet together."
I look bad. Very bad. But the Slipper Genie is wiping up the coach's mess like a charm. It could be a top scorer in your kitchen.
Coaches decision?
"The winner is: Jesse!"
Alex took the news hard, but what made it even worse is he got beat by a guy in pink slippers.
