VANCOUVER, Wa - Vancouver police officers are dropping off flyers at local gas stations to warn attendants and drivers about credit card fraud.
Over the past several months, hundreds of people who pay at the pump have been victimized at six different gas stations. The thieves, according to authorities, are using skimmers to steal the drivers' credit card information.
"What we're seeing is a device put inside the pump itself," said Corporal Charles Ford of the Vancouver Police Department.
Police are warning drivers to pay with cash or pay inside the convenience store. It is frustrating some drivers. "You try to be honest and work and somebody's doing it the easy way and taking it when they can from you," said Joe Mallicoat.
If you know anything about these crimes you are urged to call the Vancouver Police.
