Toddler and father injured in car explosion

SPOKANE, Wash. -- Bomb squads arrived at the scene of a car explosion in the Garland District near Garland and Wall.

The rear of a car exploded on Sunday afternoon. A three-year-old girl and her father were in the vehicle and were injured. Officials said they were both taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Authorities said the man was being treated for burns.

There was no word what caused the explosion.  The incident was placed under investigation.
