ONALASKA, Wash. -- James Woodcook really liked his lawnmower.
So when someone stole the $400 Craftsman riding lawnmower from his Onalaska home on November 4, he started looking for it online. Woodcock said he checked Craigslist and Ebay at least three times a day over the past month.
This week he was convinced he found it for sale on Craigslist.
Woodcook contacted the Lewis County Sheriff's Office. A detective posed as a buyer and eventually arrested a 23-year-old Olympia man after Woodcook identified the lawnmower.
"It's almost like Christmas to me to get it back," said Woodcook.
According to investigators the thief confessed, telling detectives he stole the lawnmower to make money to buy something for his girlfriend.
"I hope he has to spend Christmas in jail," said Woodcook.
