MILWAUKIE, Ore. -- The grandson of a woman whose body was found Monday in her home has been arrested and accused of aggravated murder.
Donna Irene Tennant, 63, of 2817 SE Monroe Street, was found dead about noon Monday in her home of what police described as suspicious circumstances. For much of the afternoon, investigators combed the area, questioning neighbors and leaving even more stunned by the death.
"It's a really nice neighborhood around here. I feel like we don't have any violence like that, no one walking around suspicious, so to see this is shocking," said neighbor James Lewis.
Based on tips, police arrested Andrew T. Johnson, 17, for aggravated murder, according to officer Ulli Neitch with the Milwaukie Police Department. Johnson lived in the home with his grandmother and was taken into custody near Jantzen Beach and booked into the Clackamas County jail, Neitch said.
Neighbors told KGW the victim was "full of life" and in great health. They said she often walked around the neighborhood for exercise and her son also lived nearby.
