TWIN FALLS, Idaho -- The man police say shot a woman in a Twin Falls hotel was arrested Wednesday morning in Colorado.
Police spotted Thomas Trevino walking down a road in a rural area of Grand Junction, Colorado.
He is now charged with aggravated battery in the shooting of a 24-year-old woman at the Comfort Inn in Twin Falls.
Police were alerted to the shooting at about 1:45 p.m. Monday at the hotel on Canyon Springs Road.
Police say Travino was seen leaving the hotel in a red SUV.
They spotted the SUV at Travino's last known residence and at about 10 p.m. Monday they used tear gas inside the home. Police obtained a search warrant to enter it, although it's unclear if anyone was inside the residence.
The Comfort Inn became a crime scene after the woman was shot in one of its guest rooms.
Investigators marked the area with evidence tags, as officers began their search for Trevino.
Officers say they do not know if the shooting victim was a guest at the hotel, or if she's local.
They also don't know how she knows Thomas Trevino.
She was flown by air to a hospital in Boise. Her name, age, and condition have not been released.
