PORTLAND, Ore. -- A video surveillance system has been installed at the Portland school where a missing Oregon boy was last seen.

A Portland Public Schools spokesman says Chown Hardware in northwest Portland donated the system for Skyline Elementary School.

Before little Kyron Horman disappeared June 4, the school had no surveillance system. Now schools spokesman Matt Shelby says it has cameras panning the exterior and one camera inside the main hall.

The school district is now writing video surveillance standards to ensure than any system installed provides adequate protection and can be maintained by staff. The standards are expected to be completed by mid-October.

On Sunday, volunteers moved a chain link fence decorated with notes and ribbons in memory of the boy. They moved it from the school to a nearby fire station so it wouldn't be a distraction when classes resume Sept. 7.
