Temperatures could hit 80 degrees or higher around Western Washington this week as we transition into May.
KING 5 Meteorologist Rich Marriott forecasts temperatures in the low-to-mid 70s at Sea-Tac Airport Tuesday and Wednesday, then 80-degrees on Thursday, May 1.
If the temperature manages to hit 80 before Thursday, it would be just the 12th time since 1945 that it has reached that mark in April.
The earliest Seattle has hit 80 in the past five years was May 5, 2013.
The record high for May 1 is 81 degrees set in 1998.
Temperatures will dip back into the low-to-mid 70s Friday, and then rain returns for the weekend with highs in the low-60s.
