SEATTLE - Some of us could be waking up with a dusting of white on the lawn as winter has officially arrives.
A mix of wet snow and rain could be coming to south King and north Snohomish counties Monday night, but likely not enough to create problems. But road crews are ready in the mountains where several inches of snow could fall overnight.
KING 5 weather forecaster Lisa Van Cise says a convergence zone is forming that could bring a trace to two inches.
Temperatures overnight are expected to remain above freezing. Some cooler air will spill out of the Fraser River canyon later Tuesday and Wednesday.
Although it will not be nearly as cold as what we saw a few weeks ago, it will drop our daytime highs into the upper 30s and low 40s and overnight lows into the upper 20s and low 30s.
The snow level is expected to drop to 500 feet. Temperatures in the cascades are expected to reach the mid to upper 20s.
In Eastern Washington, a dense fog advisory is in effect for the Moses Lake and Wenatchee areas, as well as the Upper Columbia Basin and Waterville Plateau, with visibility reduced to less than a quarter mile. This includes interstate 90 from Ritzville to Moses Lake and Vantage and Highway 2 from Wilbur to Entiat.
