CALDWELL -- Two Canyon County deputies have been shot by a wanted suspect in Caldwell. It happened at around 11 p.m. on Tuesday night on Sheryl Lane just off the interstate.

One deputy has been released from the hospital. The other is in serious condition.

Tuesday afternoon the Caldwell Police Department was looking for a man in relation to an aggravated assault. Caldwell Police asked for help from the Canyon County Sheriff's Department to find him. That's when deputies thought they found the man at a home on Sheryl Lane.

Chief Deputy Kieran Donahue says the deputies were shot at when they got to the door. The suspect ran from the scene. He was found a few hours later nearby on Richway Drive.

When confronted by SWAT members, the suspect shot himself. He is at a hospital at this hour.

We have a crew on the scene and will have updates as they come in. Check KTVB.COM for further information.
