A man was wounded in an officer-involved shooting in the Magnolia neighborhood on Saturday, Seattle Police said.
Police say at 11:43 a.m., officers received several 911 calls about a man in his 20s armed with a knife at 36th Ave SW and SW Smith.
Officers arrived the scene and called for back-up, including Crisis Intervention Team officers.
Police say when officers contacted the man, he advanced toward them and one of the officers opened fire, striking the man in the torso.
Officers performed first aid on the man and called medics.
Medics transported the man, who was alert and conscious at the scene, to Harborview.
The officers involved will be put on paid adminstrative leave while the incident is investigated.
