PUYALLUP, Wash. – People hoping to get a job at the Puyallup Fair this year will have to do it online.

Starting July 26 at 8 a.m., Worksource will begin taking applications to fill some 3,000 positions for the fair which runs Sept. 10-26. Applications will only be taken via the Worksource website at www.go2worksource.com.

The change is meant to prevent a repeat of what happened last year when hundreds of people who stood in line were turned away.

Open positions include foodservice workers, cashiers, sales staffing, cleaning and maintenance, ride setup and rides and games. Additional information about each job category will be listed on the website. Wages begin at $8.55 per hour, with some paying more based on duties and skills required.

Prospective employees must be at least 16 years old and be able to provide picture ID as well as proof of legal right to work, such as a social security card or alien registration card. Applicants who are considered to fill positions will be contacted for an interview.
