SEATTLE -- Seattle SWAT teams converged on a Central District apartment complex Thursday morning after receiving multiple reports of shots fired.
Police received reports around 8:24 a.m. of shots fired from a balcony at a apartment building near 20th and Yesler Street, prompting nearby Washington Middle School to go into lockdown. Witnesses reported hearing between three to nine shots fired. No one was hit by any bullets.
After more than an hour, SWAT team members took four people into custody, two men and two women. One person was arrested; the other three were released.
A relative of one of the suspects arrived at the scene and had talked the suspects out of the apartment.
There were no reports of injuries or property damage.
School officials said no students were in the school when the shots were fired, only school staff.
