MERIDIAN, Idao - Police say a 20-year-old man shot and killed his 9-month old son and then turned the gun on himself Monday night.
Meridian Deputy Police Chief Tracy Basterrechea says police responded to a home on South Pelican Way for a suicidal man.
Officers were told the man made suicidal and homicidal statements to his 19-year-old wife, from whom he was separated.
Officers first tried to call the man and knocked on his door. When they got no answer they went inside.
That's when they found the man's body and that of his baby boy.
An autopsy is scheduled for Tuesday.
Police have not yet released their names.
Police are investigating it as a murder-suicide.
