CORBETT, Ore. – A Corbett man's dog was shot in the face and he wants to know who did it.

David Shannon said his house sitter called him in California to tell him his dog “Raven” had gone missing from his Corbett yard. Shannon flew home to find her.

He said he spend six hours floating on the nearby Sandy River, calling Raven’s name along the banks where she loved to play. Then he returned home.

As mysteriously as she disappeared, Raven came back to her yard. But her face was bleeding, her jaw was broken, she was missing some teeth and her tongue had nearly been cut in half, he said.

A veterinarian told Shannon that Raven had been shot in the face.

Shannon said Wednesday that Raven was doing just fine, considering what could have happened. But she has a long road to recovery.

Anyone with information on what happened was asked to call the Multnomah County Sheriff’s Office.
