LAS VEGAS - An Oregon man has died in the swimming pool at the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas.

Clark County spokesman Dan Kulin said says firefighters were called at 5:45 p.m. Sunday because of a man with a head injury in the resort's Rehab pool party area. He was taken to Sunrise Hospital and Medical Center and was declared dead.

The coroner's office the cause of death for 27-year-old Matthew Williams of Happy Valley, Ore., hasn't been determined.

Hard Rock Hotel officials didn't immediately respond to e-mail and voicemail requests for information. Police aren't involved in a death investigation.
