SPRINGFIELD, Ore. -- A Springfield bartender was shocked when she received as a tip an unused Oregon Lottery Keno ticket, which ended up winning $17,500.
Aurora Kephart is a bartender at Conway's Restaurant and Lounge in Springfield. One of her regular customers often buys several Keno tickets and shares some with her as a tip, according to Oregon Lottery spokesman Chuck Baumann.
He again shared a couple of tickets with her Wednesday and she later found out that one was worth $5. The other was worth $17,500.
Baumann said Kephart was shocked and told the customers in the restaurant that she couldn't accept it, Baumann said. But they insisted the winnings belonged to her and she should enjoy them.
She claimed her winnings Thursday.
"Not a bad tip for a good night’s service," Baumann said.
