SEATTLE -- A small plane registered to Hillsboro Aviation caught fire after a runway collision at Boeing Field Wednesday evening.

Airport spokeswoman Rochelle Ogershok said the plane was taking off when it veered into a parked plane and caught fire. Airport firefighters quickly extinguished the flames.

Officials said a student pilot in his 20s and a flight instructor in her 30s were treated for scratches. They were taken to Harborview Medical Center as a precaution.

The plane had not been moved by Thursday morning, remaining upside down on the tarmac.

The Hillsboro Aviation company website said it offers airplane and helicopters charters and sales, maintenance and flight training. Calls to the company for information about the crash were not returned overnight.

The plane is a Piper PA-44 fixed wing multi-engine aircraft -- the same type of plane that was involved in a deadly mid-air collisionnear Newberg, Ore. in October.

The Associated Press contributed to this report.
