BEAVERTON, Ore. – A Beaverton man was a lucky lottery winner twice in one month.
Ed Clark matched five of six Megabucksâ„ numbers in the Jan. 21, drawing and won $693. Then, he matched all six Megabucks numbers in the Jan. 30 drawing. For that, he earned the $19.7 million jackpot.
Clark’s prize was the seventh-largest Megabucks jackpot ever won and he became the Oregon Lottery®’s 231st Megabucks millionaire. The winning ticket was purchased at the Fred Meyer on SW Beaverton-Hillsdale Highway, in Beaverton.
Clark said that he wasn’t aware that he was holding a winning $19.7 million Megabucks ticket until Feb. 11, when he had his stack of tickets checked. He chose the cash option for $9,850,000 before state and federal taxes are withheld.
Fred Meyer will receive a $100,000 retail selling bonus.
